His Honour has been a judicial officer in the South Australian Employment Tribunal since its inception. He was proclaimed as SAET’s President on 7 November 2017.
His Honour serves on the Governing Council of the Australian Judicial Officers Association and also on that organisation’s Standing Committee on Judicial Independence. In 2023, his Honour became a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law.
Dr Schirripa worked as a consultant forensic psychiatrist in the South Australian forensic mental health service. He has given evidence in several trials as an expert witness, including int the South Australian District and Supreme Courts and the Federal Court of Australia. He continues to run a thriving civil forensic psychiatric practice.
He runs a private psychiatric practice in Adelaide and has an interest in the pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment of chronic depressive disorders. He is also has strong focus on “lifestyle psychiatry” and the intersection between diet, exercise, sleep and mental health.
Audrey was admitted to practice in December 1993. She worked in a general legal practice for two years before finding her niche in personal injury law, initially in workers compensation and then CTP insurance.
She has represented private and government insurers while working at Finlaysons Lawyers, Thomson Playford and the Crown Solicitor’s Office. Since joining the bar in April 2019, Audrey has been engaged by various personal injury and insurance firms across Adelaide and has represented both applicants and respondents.
She co-founded Nyland Chambers in 2021. Audrey accepts briefs in all areas of personal injury including CTP claims, medical negligence, public liability, coronial inquests, workers compensation and dust disease cases.
Jason is the Chief Advisor Psychosocial for the Regulatory Assurance Team at SafeWork SA. With over 16 years’ experience working in various WHS roles such as Senior WHS inspector, Mine Safety Investigator, Psychosocial Inspector and WHS Advisor, he has worked across a variety of safety critical industries from within two Australian WHS regulators.
Jason forms part of the team that delivers psychosocial safety information, advice, and support to South Australian businesses. He is a passionate advocate for the addressment of workplace psychosocial risk and has played a key role in the roll out of the new South Australian psychosocial regulations.
Anthony Durkin is a Barrister practising at Villeneuve Smith Chambers on North Terrace.
He specialises in Employment, Administrative, Disciplinary and Defamation Law.
He was for ten years Deputy President of the Guardianship Board of SA and recently ceased to serve as a Member of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
In recent years he hosted Late Night Lounge, a series of cabaret shows at the Sydney Opera House.
Dr Lester is a retired consultant forensic psychiatrist whose public practice was with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health and as a Member of Victoria's Mental Health Tribunal.
His background has been in the treatment of severe and chronic psychoses and personality disorder in secure mental health facilities and prisons employed by the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health.
His private work and research interests have been into the querulant and vexatious complainant and litigant and he has researched with Ombudsman’s Offices and Courts throughout Australia.
She serves as a committee member for the South Australian branch of the Australian Lawyers Alliance and the Society of Labour Lawyers. She has acted for large corporations, small business and individuals and so has a wealth of experience and perspective on “both sides of the fence”.
Claire especially enjoys dealing with workers compensation and industrial disputes. She appears regularly in a number of South Australian Courts and Tribunals and has a personal interest in early alternative dispute resolution practices.
In her down time, Claire likes to get out with her two dogs and spend time with family. Claire has featured in Doyle’s Guide in 2022, 2023 and 2024 in the areas of workers compensation and employment law.
A former President of the Law Society of South Australia (2019) and an advocate for gender equity, Amy has served on numerous boards and committees, including the Law Council of Australia’s Equal Opportunity Committee. She has received numerous accolades, including being named one of InDaily’s 40 Under 40 in 2020. Amy is also a sought-after speaker on diversity and inclusion in law and business.
In addition to her legal practice, Amy leads business development and marketing at DBH and founded the women’s professional networking group, Doing Business in Heels.
Commissioner Doggett was appointed to the South Australian Employment Tribunal in June 2015, and since then has specialised primarily in the Tribunal’s Return to Work jurisdiction. Since May 2021 she has stepped into a leadership role within the Tribunal, having been co-delegated responsibilities as Managing Commissioner.
In April 2016 she became an Accredited Mediator through the National Mediation Accreditation System, building on her Alternate Dispute Resolution experience developed at the Equal Opportunity Commission, the Australian Human Rights Commission, and the NSW Office of the Legal Services Commissioner.
He was appointed as a Commissioner at the SAET in 2021. He is the lecturer and course coordinator of the Professional Certificate in Arbitration jointly offered bi-annually by the Resolution Institute and the University of Adelaide.
David is a founding partner at Fair Work Lawyers. He is industry recognised as a leader in providing specialist representation for employers in workers compensation and industrial relation disputes.
David has a broad range of experience and expertise in these areas, earned from over two decades of practice, across the full range of South Australian and Federal Courts.

Catherine has been practicing in the workers’ compensation jurisdiction since the glory days of the 1971 Workers Compensation Act. She works at Union Legal SA providing advice to both union members and the wider public.
Joseph is a principal at Wearing & Blairs and has been representing employees for the last 30 years in workers compensation and other employment-related matters. Joseph joined the BSOTF organising committee in 2024.
Tracey was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 1983. Tracey has expertise in general insurance, particularly public liability claims and recovery claims for self-insured corporate entities. She is listed in Doyle’s Guide as a Preeminent Workers Compensation Lawyer in SA.
Ellie is a Partner at Sparke Helmore Lawyers where she advises on state workers' compensation, Commonwealth compensation and social security matters. She manages matters from their inception to contested hearings in the South Australian Employment Tribunal and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Ellie works closely with a state workers' compensation statutory authority as well as large insurers and government departments.
Paris is a Barrister at Victoria Square Chambers. Prior to coming to the bar Paris worked in private practice and for trade unions in both South Australia and Victoria. Paris is regularly briefed in relation to employment, industrial, workers compensation, social security, tenancy, discrimination and NDIS matters. He has previously been a member of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Worker’s Compensation.
Deputy President Katherine Eaton was appointed to the SAET in 2022, following twenty years of legal practice as a solicitor and at the independent bar, during which she attended many Both Sides of the Fence seminars. She has extensive experience in workers compensation, equal opportunity and employment law.
Since 1988 Gary has practised in the areas of corporate, taxation, and criminal law to varying degrees of success. In the field of labour law he has been a plaintiff. He is also a three time club champion of a country golf club. In C Grade.
