The 2026 Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) Conference will be held from 29 November - 3 December 2026 at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Kelvin Grove Campus, Brisbane.

As you complete the details of each page, click "next" to proceed to the next section. All information should be typed in upper and lower case (e.g., John Smith). If you need to go back to a previous section, click the "back" button at the bottom of the form.

Please note that all prices are quoted in Australian dollars and include Goods and Services Tax (GST). 

Accounts processed via the online portal will incur a 2.8% merchant service fee (applicable to all card types). Please note, from 1 October 2026, the current merchant service fee structure will be revised and the 2.8% fee will no longer apply. Additional pricing adjustments may apply under the updated fee structure. 

If you prefer not to pay by credit card, you may request an invoice by contacting the Conference Organisers, All Occasions Group, at aare@aomevents.com or +61 8 8125 2200. Invoices attract a $19.80 processing fee, which applies once per group booking. Payment for invoices can be made via direct debit.

Please note, incomplete registration details will be removed from the Registration Portal after 7 days.

If you have dietary requirements (e.g., Allergy to Nuts, Gluten Free, Halal, Kosher, Lactose Intolerant, Seafood or Shellfish Allergy, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc.), please specify. 
If you have more than one requirement please list them using the 'other' field. We will endeavour to cater to your needs however this may not be possible in all cases.

The AARE 2026 Pre-Conference Day is an engaging lead-in to the main conference, designed to connect delegates, spark discussion, and explore the conference theme New Connections and Directions for Educational Research in a more intimate setting. Specifically targeted at postgraduate and early career researchers, the day provides opportunities to hear from internationally recognised educational researchers, network with colleagues, meet the AARE Executive, and share research in a collaborative environment. 

*Please note the Pre-conference registration is not included in the full conference registration fee.

Pricing and Payments

All prices are quoted in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST. All online transactions will attract a $4.80 web processing fee, which is non-refundable. Accounts processed via the online portal will incur a 2.8% merchant service fee (applicable to all card types). Please note, from 1 October 2026, the current merchant service fee structure will be revised and the 2.8% fee will no longer apply. Additional pricing adjustments may apply under the updated fee structure. By submitting your registration, you acknowledge your intention to attend the Conference and accept liability for any applicable cancellation fees.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Registration cancellations must be made in writing via email to All Occasions Group at aare@aomevents.com. Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the Conference will receive a full refund minus a $150 administration fee. Cancellations received between after 30 days and up to 7 days prior will receive a 50% refund or may be refunded in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the host. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the Conference; however, a substitute delegate may attend in your place at no extra cost. There will be no refund for failure to secure a visa to attend the Conference. Refunds for deposits made to external providers (e.g., hotels, tour operators) are at the discretion of the supplier.

Transfer of Registration

Registrations can be transferred to another person without penalty by notifying in writing via email to All Occasions Group at aare@aomevents.com. Within 7 days prior to the Conference, no refunds will be provided for transfers of registration.

Earlybird Registration Policy

To receive the Earlybird rate, payment must be received by the Earlybird deadline. Unpaid Earlybird registrations after this date will automatically roll over to the standard rate. Entry to the Conference and social functions may be denied if payment has not been received in full.

Program and Event Disclaimer

Every effort will be made to deliver the program as advertised. However, the Conference Committee reserves the right to make changes to any aspect of the program, including speakers, topics, schedules, and venues, without prior notice, due to circumstances beyond their control.

The Organisers and hosts are not liable for any loss, damages, or inconvenience caused by such changes or delays.

Liability and Insurance

• The Conference and its Organisers accept no liability for injuries, losses, or damages to person or property during the event.
• Attendees are responsible for their own insurance, including:
  • Medical and travel cover
  • Cancellation of attendance or flights
  • Loss or damage to personal property
  • Repatriation or other unexpected costs due to disruptions

It is strongly recommended that attendees arrange comprehensive travel insurance at the time of registration.

Alterations and Social Events

Some social events may have limited capacity and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are only guaranteed once payment is received. Alterations to registrations must be submitted in writing.

Privacy Policy

In accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 2000, all personal information collected is used solely for the purposes of planning and delivering the Conference and for communications regarding future events.

Information may be shared with relevant third parties (e.g., accommodation providers, venues, sponsors) under strict confidentiality requirements, where necessary for the operation of the event.

A delegate list (name, organisation, state/country) may be shared with sponsors or attendees. By registering, you consent to your information being included unless you notify the Organisers in writing.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your registration details are accurate and current. To access or update your information, please contact the Conference Organisers.

Photography and Media

By attending the Conference, you grant AARE permission for photographs and/or video/audio recordings taken during the event to be used for promotional, advertising, or reporting purposes by the Conference and its partners. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify in writing via email to All Occasions Group at aare@aomevents.com.
